Music

Our curriculum is designed to give pupils the key knowledge and skills they need for future learning and for adult life. It provides a strong foundation, enabling every child to grow in confidence, develop a love of learning and be fully prepared for the next stage of their education. We do this by delivering an inclusive and well considered Music curriculum that ensures all pupils, including those with SEND, can access core knowledge and skills.

At Holy Trinity, we aim to empower children to become confident, expressive musicians who not only develop their musical skills but also build an appreciation for music. We believe music is a powerful form of communication and creativity, and we want every child to feel inspired and capable, whether they are performing, composing, or simply listening. Through an inclusive and supportive learning environment, we nurture a love for diverse musical styles and encourage pupils to explore their own musical identity. Our goal is for every child to leave school with the confidence to engage with music, both in school and beyond.

Guided by Charanga, our music curriculum is designed to provide a structured and engaging music education for all. Its intent is to develop musical skills, knowledge, and enjoyment through a progressive curriculum that supports the national music curriculum expectations. By combining listening, singing, composing, and performing activities, Charanga aims to build pupils' confidence, creativity, and appreciation of a wide range of musical styles.

New for September 2025!!

Starting in the new academic year, we will be welcoming Rock Steady Music School into our school to deliver band music lessons to pupils from Reception to Year 6. These sessions offer children the chance to learn instruments, perform in bands, and develop their musical skills in a fun and engaging way.

The children had an incredible morning, watching a live demonstration from one of Rock Steady’s talented music teachers. They not only got to see the instruments in action but some children(and teachers) had a go at performing themselves - and they were amazing!

If you would like your child to take part, you can sign up directly through Rock Steady. Please see email from school for further details.

Key Details:

  • Weekly 30-minute lessons during the school day

  • Taught in small bands by professional musicians

  • Instruments are provided

  • Children work towards music qualifications

  • End-of-term performances to showcase their progress

We’re so excited to see the musical journeys our pupils will begin. This is a truly unique opportunity to inspire creativity, confidence, and teamwork.
