Pupil Leadership

At Holy Trinity, we are proud to have a dedicated team of Pupil Leaders representing every year group from Reception to Year 6. Our Pupil Leaders play an important role in living out our school values and faith, helping to serve our school community with care and responsibility. They support worship, lead activities, assist with school events, and act as positive role models for others. By taking on these responsibilities, pupils learn the importance of leadership, service, and teamwork, growing in confidence while contributing meaningfully to our school family. Giving children a voice and meaningful responsibilities allows them to understand the impact they can have, fostering a sense of belonging, purpose, and commitment to making our school a welcoming and caring place for everyone.

Librarians

Our School Librarians play a vital and exciting role at Holy Trinity! Each summer, children who have a real passion for reading are invited to apply for the position, explaining why they would make a great librarian. Successful applicants are chosen for their enthusiasm, responsibility, and love of books. Once appointed, our librarians help to keep the library well-stocked and beautifully organised, ensuring it remains a welcoming space for everyone. They take pride in giving book recommendations, creating author displays, and supporting younger pupils in choosing stories that inspire and delight them. Some even enjoy reading aloud to other classes, helping to share their love of reading across the school. Being a school librarian is a truly important role, it celebrates leadership, teamwork, and a genuine love of literature that helps to keep our reading culture at the heart of Holy Trinity.

Senior Bankers

Our Senior Bankers at Holy Trinity play an important and highly valued role within our school community. These responsible pupils help to run our Holy Trinket Shop, supporting younger children as they decide whether to bank their coins to save or trade them for exciting prizes. The Senior Bankers take great pride in their role, engaging in friendly conversations with pupils, offering guidance, and helping them make thoughtful decisions about saving and spending. Using Chromebooks and an Excel-based banking system, they carefully log transactions, demonstrating impressive levels of organisation, accuracy, and responsibility. This role allows them to develop valuable communication, mathematical, and digital skills, while also modelling teamwork and leadership. Our Senior Bankers are shining examples of trust, maturity, and service, helping to make our reward system both meaningful and fun for everyone at Holy Trinity!

Play Leaders

Our Play Leaders are a fantastic team of pupils who help make break times and lunchtimes at Holy Trinity fun, inclusive, and active for everyone! Trained to support younger children on the playground, they encourage cooperative play, organise games, and ensure that no one is left out. Whether they’re leading a game of football, helping set up skipping or hoop activities, or teaching new playground games, our Play Leaders are always ready with a smile and a helping hand.

They take responsibility for managing our play equipment and resources, making sure everything is used safely and respectfully. As positive role models, they demonstrate how to share, take turns, and resolve minor disagreements kindly. Their role helps promote teamwork, friendship, and respect across the playground. Through this important position, our Play Leaders develop their leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, while ensuring that every child enjoys a happy, active, and safe playtime at Holy Trinity.

Worship leaders

Our Worship Leaders play a special and meaningful role in the life of Holy Trinity. They help to nurture our strong Christian ethos and sense of belonging by supporting worship across the school. Each week, our Worship Leaders help to organise and lead Key Stage and class worship, prepare the worship table, and select readings or themes that reflect our school values. They also take turns to say prayers during whole school assemblies, helping to guide our community in moments of reflection and thankfulness.

In addition, our Worship Leaders look after the Worship Basket in the library, a quiet and thoughtful space where children can spend time in prayer or reflection. They encourage others to think about kindness, forgiveness, and hope, and to recognise how these values shape our daily lives.

As young faith ambassadors, our Worship Leaders also help plan special services, support our RE culture, and model respect for all faiths and beliefs. Their work helps make Holy Trinity a place where every child feels valued, connected, and inspired to grow spiritually as part of our caring school family.

Dog Mentors

Our Dog Mentors have a unique and exciting role at Holy Trinity, helping to teach children about safety, responsibility, and caring for animals. They deliver dog safety presentations to every year group, showing children how to approach dogs carefully, understand their behaviour, and interact with them safely and respectfully. Beyond teaching, our Dog Mentors spend time training Maggie, our school dog, on a weekly basis, helping her practise commands, social skills, and positive behaviours. This role allows pupils to develop important leadership, communication, and responsibility skills, while supporting the school community in keeping both children and animals safe. Our Dog Mentors are proud ambassadors for kindness and respect, showing how we can all care for our four-legged friends in thoughtful and confident ways.

Pupil Govenors

Our Pupil Governors are an important part of Holy Trinity’s school community, giving children a voice in decisions that affect their learning and daily life. Elected by their peers, these pupils are chosen to represent the views of their classmates, bringing feedback, ideas, and suggestions to help make the school an even better place. Pupil Governors actively come up with initiatives and projects, such as organising a talent show for Key Stage 1 and 2, creating opportunities for fun, enjoyment, and teamwork, while also raising money to support school activities and resources.

They take part in regular meetings with the Headteacher and senior staff, discussing school improvements, sharing pupils’ perspectives, and helping to plan exciting events. Pupil Governors also work collaboratively to think creatively, solve problems, and make decisions that benefit the wider school community. Through their role, they develop key leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, while helping to ensure that all children feel heard and included. Being a Pupil Governor is a rewarding way for pupils to actively shape their school, lead by example, and make a real difference in the life of Holy Trinity.
