Forest School
New to 25/26 academic year!
The rationale behind our Forest School programme is to provide children with meaningful learning experiences in the outdoors, where they can develop a range of new skills that they wouldn’t usually encounter during a normal school day. Activities such as lighting fires, using tools and building shelters encourage children to take manageable risks and learn how to take responsibility for their own safety.
Our aim is to help children grow in confidence, resilience and independence while linking closely to our school values of love, adventure and grow. Through shared outdoor experiences, children build positive relationships, develop empathy and patience and gain a stronger sense of community.
We believe this programme supports the all-round development of our pupils by giving them opportunities to problem-solve, work collaboratively and connect with nature. It also supports their emotional wellbeing and personal growth. The Forest School approach complements our curriculum by nurturing skills and qualities that we see as essential for the children in our setting to thrive, both in and beyond the classroom.
