What makes us so special? Year 1 is a very special year, as it marks the transition from the Early Years environment to Key Stage 1. Although we are moving towards a more formal classroom setting, and are learning to do lots of new and exciting things, we still make plenty of time to have lots of fun and continue to discover the world around us. We have our own special outdoor area and enjoy spending ‘Muddy Mondays’ and ‘Welly Wednesdays’ outside, taking part in a range of fun and stimulating activities. |
Important dates/information
All important information and dates are shared on our parent communication - WEDUC. You will also find termly newsletters here. Please speak to the school office if you do not have access to this app. |
Reading
In Year 1, home reading is vital and all children are expected to read daily with a parent for a minimum of ten minutes. This can be a school book or any other reading material which interests the child.
